This exciting and inventive site-specific piece follows the bereaved Orpheus on a remarkable journey into a place no living person can usually experience: What happens when a mortal enters the world of the dead? A miscellany of souls, trapped in their owns vices, lead him with their sounds and tortured faces to Hades - and his long-suffering wife Persephone. Can Orpheus persuade them he deserves the to be united with his lover? The chance that all others are denied...

Created with the support and inspiration of the English National Opera, Where Shadows of the World Appear explores the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in an hitherto unseen way: a marvelous and breathtaking blend of theatre, music, installation and performance art, all in the intimate basements of Shoreditch Town Hall.

The audience is strictly limited for this intimate performance, and tickets are by invitation only. Feel free to find your own place in the space. Dare to explore - don't be afraid to step into a room, open doors or stand close to actors. We look forward to greeting you in the Underworld...
